Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a lasting impact as a bilingual Special Education Teacher working with 6th-8th grade students in an engaging junior high environment near Chicago. This rewarding contract role offers the opportunity to support a diverse classroom of 20 or fewer students, teaching in both English and Spanish for the entire academic year—August 17, 2026, through June 2, 2027. Your expertise will directly benefit students who thrive under educators with strong experience at the junior high or high school level. What we're looking for: Valid Illinois Special Education Licensure Demonstrated bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish Direct experience with upper elementary, junior high, or high school students A consistent professional track record in education (career stability preferred) Student-centered approach to teaching and individual growth Comfortable with small group instruction (class size: 20 or fewer students) Strong collaborative and communication skills Key responsibilities: Deliver engaging instruction to students in both English and Spanish, adapting lessons to meet diverse learning needs Foster a supportive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment Collaborate with faculty, support staff, and families to enhance student outcomes Use individualized education plans to guide and monitor progress Maintain proactive communication with all stakeholders, with a focus on student development Your commitment will help shape young lives and foster an environment of belonging and achievement.
