2026-2027 Spanish Teacher at Northbrook Junior High (Anticipated)
Salary:
Commensurate with experience
Benefits Eligibility:
Eligible for full-time benefits for certified personnel
Work Year:
8/17/2026 - 5/28/2027
Days Off:
10 holidays plus winter break (10 days) and spring break (5 days)
Schedule:
8:15am - 3:45pm Qualifications & Licensure Illinois Professional Educator License with Spanish Grade 5-8 Endorsement Reports to:
Principal Performance Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain plans for daily Spanish instruction Utilize teaching methods to meet the wide range of abilities, interests, and levels of students Establish and communicate to students well-defined objectives for each unit of work, including expectations for assessing student learning Assist in development of, be knowledgeable about, and be guided by the curriculum of the district and the state learning standards Attend and participate in meetings Share with other staff members ideas and techniques to improve curriculum and teaching; confer with other staff members regarding experiences for the betterment of student learning Evaluate individual student progress on a regular basis and maintain necessary records Provide written student progress reports as required Meet with parents/guardians to discuss student needs, challenges or progress Hold conferences with individual students as determined by teacher and/or student need Exercise reasonable measures to assure student health and safety, being alert to the needs of students and collaborating with the appropriate related services personnel Collaborate with administration and colleagues and assist in the implementation of supports for all students; and participate with resource personnel for the purpose of supporting student learning Assume responsibility for supervising the behavior of students on school property or during approved events away from campus Know and observe the policies and regulations of the district and of the assigned individual building(s) and district Keep records of student attendance and tardiness, and utilize procedures to support student attendance Provide appropriate plans and materials for use by substitute teachers
Terms of Employment:
10 Month Position; salary and benefits as determined annually by the D28
