RESPONSIBILITIES
Work with 15-18 students in mixed ethnic grouping and often mixed level ability Prepare for two cycles (36 weeks) of ESOL for beginner English Language Learners (Level 1 Teacher- NRS Level 1-2; Level 2 Teacher NRS Level 3-4; Level 3 Teacher NRS Level 5-6) Arrive one hour prior to class time for staff meetings, student counseling, and staff collaborations Prepare Lesson Plans, Google Classroom, Google Slides, using the program wide curriculum Uses Technology tools for classroom learning: Projectors, Chromebooks, ipads, etc. Collaborate and meet with peer Instructors, Education and Career Advisors, Program Coordinator and Directors to improve program quality Participate in activities related to staff and program development that benefits students Attends ADEI training and works within the program philosophy to address the marginalized student needs Operate within the philosophy of the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) and Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) to work towards meeting program and student goals
SPECIFIC DUTIES
Use the Google Drive and Google Classroom for all necessary documents in order to maintain and communicate student information and program success, including but not limited to: Report Attendance weekly via the Cycle Attendance Template for the LACES Coordinator Utilize the Program Cycle Class Listing weekly to ensure student's most up-to-date information is reflected, use the notes section for any comments needed, and to ensure student assessments are current
Uploading Weekly:
Lesson Plans to Shared Drive Folder; lessons to Google Classroom Creates Zoom meeting for remote classes Meet with ESOL staff to coordinate services and plan program activities Collaboratively work with all of the level 1 teachers to tailor program wide curriculum based on the MA DESE Curriculum Frameworks, the MA English Language Proficiency (MELPS) & the CCR Standards Participate in counseling & referral of students and work closely with the
ESOL ECA
Work closely with the Program Coordinator for student referrals in between cycles. Meet with entire staff weekly Maintain student records and communicate with student and Administration on an ongoing basis Join us as an ESOL Level 1 Teacher and be part of a vibrant team committed to transforming lives through education! Pay:
$34.00 - $35.00 per hour
