Summer ESL Teachers/Screeners for the
School Registration and Parent Information Center Dates/Hours:
June 29, 2026-August 28, 2026 Mondays through Thursdays 8:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
Minimum Qualifications:
1.Teaching certificate (license) from the MA DOE in ESL 2.Successful school EL registration/testing experience 3.Capable of working with parents to conduct home language surveys, explain program placement, and complete required EL forms required for registration 4.Experienced in the use of assessment instruments for identification of EL students 5.Successful teaching experience with EL students 6.Demonstrated skills in organization, communication, problem solving, collaboration and team building 7.Candidates will be asked to commit to at least two full weeks in position
Responsibilities:
1.Work collaboratively with the Director of Bilingual Education and the Director of School Registration and Parent Information Center 2.Conduct Home Language Surveys via phone interview, complete EL designation forms, follow up with the Director of SRPIC, and send copies of forms to the Bilingual Office 3.Assess incoming students and score assessment to determine their English language proficiency 4.Explain test results and make program recommendations to parents 5.Complete the required paperwork to document assessment results and program placement 6.Utilize online registration system to complete all documentation 7.Request student records from previous schools and determine proficiency level and program recommendation 8.Schedule appointments for initial identification tests when necessary 9.Perform other related duties as assigned by the
