Job Description
The Parker School is looking for a certified ESL teacher to work daily but part-time with a single ESL class. Current Massachusetts ESL certification required. Duties include but are not limited to: Provide a nurturing and supportive learning environment that encourages community, student responsibility and incorporates flexible learning strategies to provide individual, small group, and/or remedial instruction as to meet the needs of individual students Develop and deliver direct instruction lesson plans that utilize a broad range of appropriate ESL/SEI teaching techniques and strategies Provide instruction in English that meets ELP Benchmarks and assists students in accessing academic content to ensure that students meet/exceed learning targets Address all aspects of language through developmentally appropriate instruction in following domains: reading, writing, speaking, and listening Assist with administration of academic and language assessments (ACCESS, WIDA screeners) for the purpose of evaluating student progress for meeting academic learning targets and progress in language acquisition Maintain complete and accurate records of student progress and evidence of growth and progress Perform related duties as required or assigned Welcome to Francis W.
