Education:
Bachelor's degree in Education or related field, Master's preferred. Subject matter expertise. Certification:
Must hold a valid Massachusetts Teaching License for the applicable grade level and subject area. SEI endorsement required. Experience:
Previous teaching experience is preferred. Skills:
Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and colleagues. Ability to design and deliver rigorous, standards-based instruction and differentiate to meet the diverse needs of all learners, including Multilingual Learners (MLs), students with disabilities, and advanced learners. Skilled in using student data to inform instruction, monitor progress, and support students' social, emotional, and academic growth within a collaborative, multi-tiered system of supports. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Instruction:
As a High School Teacher, you will plan, organize, and deliver high-quality, Massachusetts standards aligned lessons through culturally and linguistically sustaining practices through the use of District approved materials and curricula. Adapt lessons to meet diverse student needs and learning styles. Use research-based instructional practices to meet the diverse needs of all learners, including Multilingual Learners (MLs), students with disabilities, and advanced learners. Develop and implement both content and language objectives for every lesson to support linguistic growth and academic progress. Student Support:
Actively participate in the implementation of the MTSS framework, which includes monitoring student progress, identifying academic or behavioral challenges, and providing appropriate interventions/use of data platforms. Teachers are encouraged to be available beyond the regular workday to assist students with extra help and support as needed. Assessment:
Regularly monitor student performance through formative and summative assessments, assignments, student observations, and other tools. Provide timely feedback to students and parents. Classroom Management:
Establish and maintain a safe, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment that fosters student engagement and promotes academic and behavioral success. Collaboration:
Work with colleagues, administrators, and support staff in Professional Learning Communities to improve instruction using High Quality Instructional Materials and researched-based strategies. Participate in school-based committees, professional development, and faculty meetings. Maintain professionalism and high moral standards when working with students, staff, and the community. Work with colleagues, including ESL/ELD specialists, to co-plan and support the needs of Multilingual Learners (MLs). Parent and Community Engagement:
Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress, behavior, and any concerns. Participate in parent-teacher conferences and school events. Communicate effectively with parents and guardians, utilizing translation and interpretation services as needed to ensure equitable access to information for all families. Professional Learning:
Actively pursue and implement professional development strategies and learnings into the classroom, integrate emerging technologies, and align with evolving district and Massachusetts state education vision, initiatives, and policies. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to work in a classroom setting and adapt to a dynamic school environment. Occasional lifting of instructional materials, setting up classroom activities, and moving throughout the school building. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
