Full Job Description Classes:
Randolph Community Partnership, Inc. (RCP) is a non-profit organization that provides educational opportunities and services to speakers of other languages in the Randolph area. This workplace training program is funded by a grant from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education's MassSTEP program. We are currently accepting resumes for a part-time intermediate/advanced-level ESOL teacher. Classes meet 2 days per week; Monday and Wednesday on-site at the RICC (Randolph Intergenerational Community Center). This training program will be taught over a 10-week period with 2 cohorts: fall and spring. Classes meet from 9:30am-2:30pm. This training program is designed to prepare students with basic skills, relevant occupational skills, and essential workplace skills to enter the workforce in the food service and hospitality industries. The curriculum combines language development and workforce preparation training to provide ESOL students with a current SPL of 4 or higher the skills needed to obtain an entry-level position with one of our employer partners. The skills taught will also help prepare students to move into higher-wage jobs at a faster pace. The training is intended to be accelerated to get students workplace ready and into jobs as quickly as possible.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Work with program staff to maintain a comprehensive curriculum that coordinates and meets the required DESE standards Prepare and submit lesson plans Teach ESOL and math workplace fundamentals Work with the Academic Advisor to help students set and meet their educational and career goals
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree required Valid teaching certificate required Creative, energetic, and a team player Experience working with diverse communities At least 2 YEARS teaching experience REQUIRED, preferably in Adult Education, English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), High School, or bilingual programs Experience/knowledge of second language acquisition Ability to work with and motivate adult learners Excellent oral and written communication skills Knowledge of another language is helpful but not necessary Ability to commit to both cohorts is preferred!
