Sep 1, 2026 Job Description Winchester High School seeking a reliable long-term substitute Spanish Teacher who is passionate about creating a student-centered environment conducive to the intellectual, social, and emotional development of high school age students. Candidates should have a detailed understanding of effective methods and a strong knowledge of pedagogy for the Spanish Language classroom that include the ACTFL and MA World Language Frameworks. Candidates should have strong experience in proficiency-based language acquisition and be able to focus on the four communication domains: interpretive, interpersonal, presentational, and intercultural communication. Candidates should also have a flexible repertoire for assessing skills that incorporates performance-based assessments. Candidates should have a growth mindset and embrace collaboration and curriculum development within the goal of continuous improvement. Candidates should demonstrate strong social and emotional teaching practices and a commitment to developing, selecting and modifying instructional plans and materials to meet the needs of all students should be part of the regular practice of the candidate. Must hold a valid DESE Teacher Certification Winchester High School is a comprehensive high school that works to meet the needs of all learners. WHS serves over 1,400 students in grades 9-12. We strive to create a well-developed curriculum that reflects a focus on the whole student as we endeavor to prepare all students to be ready and successful for any path they choose when they leave our halls.
