Job Description

ISL International School of Languages is a community-oriented language school dedicated to offering rigorous language education for all ages and levels of students in the Washington DC metro area. We focus on helping those students who have the need, will, and desire to achieve the ability to effectively communicate in a foreign language. ISL currently offers Spanish, French, English, Chinese Mandarin, Farsi, Italian, Portuguese, German, Russian, Arabic, Russian, and Japanese. We are currently looking for a Spanish teacher to work on an intensive language training. About the Role The International School of Languages is seeking an experienced Spanish instructor for an intensive, one-on-one teaching assignment with an adult learner. This is a temporary, part-time position ideal for a dedicated educator who can commit to a consistent weekly schedule over the summer. Schedule & Duration Temporary assignment: mid-July through mid-August (approximately 5 weeks) Monday to Friday during business hours. Approximately 27 hours per week In-person sessions in the Potomac/Rockville, MD area Responsibilities Deliver intensive one-on-one Spanish instruction tailored to the student's goals Prepare the student for the Foreign Service Institute (FSI) language exam, Customize lessons to build speaking, listening, reading, and comprehension skills Track progress and adjust instruction to keep the student on pace for an October exam date Qualifications Fluent/native-level Spanish proficiency Proven experience teaching Spanish to adult learners Familiarity with the FSI exam and proficiency-based assessment (strongly preferred) Reliable transportation and ability to meet in person in the Potomac/Rockville area Strong commitment to the full schedule and assignment window Compensation Competitive, commensurate with experience.
