Job Description

Waynflete seeks a part-time Spanish teacher to begin in August for the 2026-2027 school year. Responsibilities will include teaching 1 year-long class (specific course level to be determined), and the teacher should anticipate needing to be available for commensurate office hours during the week and occasional afternoon department meetings. There is a possibility that a second year-long course would be added to this position, though that decision would not likely be made until the summer. Applicants should have specific training and background in all levels of Spanish instruction (from 7th grade through 12th grade upper level electives). We seek applicants who are passionate about Spanish, use innovative teaching practices, and engage with students and colleagues in a collaborative spirit. The ability to teach additional languages (French, Latin, or Chinese) is a plus. A strong applicant will have passion for innovation in the classroom and experience with discussion-based learning. Significant teaching experience, experience in similar school environments, and an advanced degree are preferred but not required. With an institutional commitment to the principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion, Waynflete seeks candidates who are committed to developing inclusive methods in their teaching, teamwork, and leadership. We believe that all students benefit from more inclusive environments. Taking inspiration from our mission, we seek qualified faculty and staff with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to enhance the student experience and strengthen our community. To apply, please click below and upload a resume and cover letter. If available, letters of recommendation and unofficial transcripts are also appreciated. Applications will be reviewed immediately and the position will remain open until filled. No phone calls, please.
