Posting Details Position Information Job Title Part-Time Evening English as a Second Language (ESL) Instructor Rank Adjunct Job Description Deliver engaging English language instruction in reading, writing, speaking, and listening. Develop and implement effective lesson plans aligned with College and Career Readiness standards and student learning goals. Integrate contextualized instruction, workforce readiness skills, math language, and digital literacy into classroom activities. Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and multisensory learning experiences to meet the needs of diverse learners. Administer and interpret formal and informal assessments to monitor student progress and inform instruction. Support student persistence, retention, and achievement of educational and career goals. Maintain accurate student attendance, assessment, and instructional records. Participate in required professional development and training activities. Ensure compliance with all College, North Carolina Community College System, state, and federal policies, procedures, and reporting requirements. Required Qualifications Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. ESL teaching experience, TESOL certification, or the ability to obtain required ESL credentials. Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Skills and Abilities Serve as a positive and professional role model for students. Foster a respectful, inclusive, and supportive learning environment. Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in response to changing program needs. Exercise sound judgment and effective decision-making skills. Promote and maintain a safe learning environment. Maintain the technical and instructional competencies necessary to perform assigned duties. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of College and Career Readiness. Preferred Qualifications Previous ESL , adult education, or community college teaching experience. Experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse populations. Proficiency in using instructional technology and digital learning tools. Knowledge of College and Career Readiness standards and adult education best practices.
