Position Information Job Title Adjunct Instructor of Spanish for Workforce Development Job Description A Spanish Instructor for workforce development and community development typically involves developing and delivering Spanish language instruction tailored to adult learners, focusing on practical communication skills for workplace and community contexts, while fostering an inclusive and culturally sensitive learning environment. Full Time or Part Time Part Time Essential Duties Summary Design and implement engaging lesson plans and curriculum focused on practical Spanish communication for workplace and community settings, potentially covering essential vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, and cultural nuances relevant to specific industries or community interactions. Assess student progress through various methods, provide constructive feedback, and create learning programs to address individual needs. Create a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment that encourages active participation. Maintain accurate records of attendance and performance, and communicate with students. Performs other related duties, as assigned by the supervisor. Required Qualifications Strong command of the Spanish language, often requiring proficiency in both Spanish and English, especially for programs serving a bilingual workforce or community Preferred Qualifications Previous experience teaching Spanish, particularly to adult learners or in a workforce development context. Physical Demands Work is primarily performed in an academic (an office or classroom) setting with appropriate climate controls. Travel, early morning, evening, and weekend work may be required. The physical and mental demands described as follows are representative of those that must be met by an employee in performing the essential functions of this job: Essential functions: Positions require lifting, manual dexterity, ability to communicate, ability to sit and/or stand for long periods, ability to move between classrooms, buildings, and campuses, ability to express or exchange ideas, and good eye/hand dexterity. Exposure to bodily fluids and hazardous chemicals. Medium work: Requires ability to operate a variety of types of office, instructional, and dental equipment. Exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally. Physical demands are in excess of sedentary work. Requires the ability to walk, stand, stoop, reach, crouch, knees, reach, or grasp for an extended period of time.Mental Application:
Utilizes memory for details, verbal instructions, emotional stability, critical thinking, adaptability, and creative problem-solving skills are important.
