You will play a pivotal role in shaping young minds through innovative lesson planning, engaging classroom management, and personalized mentoring. Your expertise in curriculum development will empower students to excel in writing, reading, and critical thinking, preparing them for academic success and beyond. What you'll do Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that align with educational standards and foster a love for English language arts. Utilize various teaching methodologies, including learning technology, to create an interactive and inclusive classroom environment. Mentor students in their academic journeys, providing guidance in areas such as creative writing, journalism, and literacy education. Conduct assessments and standardized testing to evaluate student progress and adapt instructional strategies accordingly. Collaborate with fellow educators on curriculum development initiatives that incorporate the Chicago Manual of Style and AP style guidelines. Manage classroom behavior effectively, ensuring a positive learning atmosphere that encourages participation and respect. Provide academic advising to students, helping them navigate their educational paths with confidence. Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in education administration and instructional design. Experience Bachelor's degree in English, Education, or a related field; higher education teaching experience is preferred. Proven experience working with students in diverse educational settings, including private schools or Montessori environments. Strong writing skills with a background in copy editing, proofreading, and research methodologies. Familiarity with special education practices is advantageous; experience in behavior management is a plus. Excellent communication and organizational skills to effectively convey concepts and manage classroom dynamics. Ability to integrate library services into lesson plans to enhance research skills among students. Experience with tutoring or mentoring programs that support student learning outcomes.
