Job Description
School setting: Blair Academy is a co-educational, grade 9-12/postgraduate boarding school situated on 463 hilltop acres just minutes from the Delaware Water Gap and approximately one hour west of New York City. The school is 85 percent boarding, possesses exceptional facilities and faculty housing, and is committed to the continuing education of the faculty. Position available:
Blair Academy announces an opening for a French teacher beginning in the 2026-2027 school year. We are searching for an enthusiastic, student-centered and collegial teacher who will share in the responsibility of ensuring that our teaching of French at Blair happens in the target language, stems from engagement in culture, and centers on student agency and peer collaboration. The strongest applicants will have the following qualifications: Passion for teaching students at all levels, from introductory classes through advanced study; BA in French, education or a related field; Knowledge of language acquisition techniques and lesson planning; Strong commitment to collaborating with colleagues to create curricular materials and to design assessments that provide evaluative, growth-oriented feedback; and Experience teaching language using comprehensible input strategies and acquisition-driven instruction.We seek candidates who:

Teaching four sections each semester (details to be determined); Coaching or assisting with a sport for two seasons or with activities for three seasons; Advising a group of six students; and Providing weekly supervision for boarding students during evening and weekend hours. Salary & other compensation: Base pay range is $45,000 to $75,000. Salary is dependent on numerous factors, including but not limited to education and experience. Other compensation based on assigned job duties may include a stipend for dormitory work and other responsibilities not stated herein.Benefits:
Our robust benefits program includes, but is not limited to, on-campus housing (for most faculty positions) and three meals a day in our dining hall during the school year.
