The ideal candidate will foster a love of language and culture while creating an engaging, supportive classroom environment for students in Spanish I-IV. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to academic excellence, collaboration, and the mission of a Catholic college-preparatory school for young women. Primary Responsibilities Teach Spanish I-IV courses using communicative and proficiency-based instructional practices Develop engaging lesson plans that promote listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills Integrate Hispanic cultures, traditions, and authentic resources into instruction Assess student progress regularly and provide timely, constructive feedback Maintain an organized, positive, and respectful classroom environment Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development and interdisciplinary opportunities Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school administrators Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school community activities Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Spanish, World Languages, Education, or a related field required Valid teaching certification preferred Fluency in Spanish and English required Experience teaching secondary-level Spanish preferred Strong classroom management and communication skills Commitment to supporting the educational and spiritual mission of a Catholic school Preferred Qualities Familiarity with NJSLS standards and proficiency-based instruction Ability to inspire confidence and active participation among students Enthusiasm for working in an all-girls educational environment Willingness to contribute to the broader life of the school community
