LISMA INC

is seeking a qualified and dedicated ESL Teacher to provide English language instruction to adult learners at our Albertson, NY location. The instructor will teach English as a Second Language classes, support students' language development, and help maintain a positive, professional, and engaging classroom environment. The ideal candidate should have experience teaching adult ESL students and a strong understanding of lesson planning, classroom instruction, student assessment, and classroom management.

Responsibilities include:

Teach ESL classes in accordance with the school's curriculum and approved course objectives Prepare lesson plans, instructional materials, and classroom activities Assess student progress through assignments, participation, quizzes, and exams Maintain accurate attendance and academic records Support students in improving speaking, listening, reading, writing, grammar, and pronunciation skills Create an inclusive and respectful learning environment Follow school policies and applicable BPSS requirements

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree required; degree in TESOL, English, Education, Applied Linguistics, or a related field preferred TESOL, TEFL, CELTA, or equivalent ESL teaching certification preferred Prior experience teaching ESL or adult learners strongly preferred Strong communication and classroom management skills Professional, reliable, and student-centered BPSS teacher certification or eligibility to obtain BPSS approval How to
