Brief Description:

We are seeking an exceptional World Language Teacher to join our dynamic team. LACS is a unique 6-12 democratic school, where all members of the school community (students, staff and families) are involved in decision making. We value depth over breadth in our project based curriculum. Teachers infuse subject matter they are passionate about and students work to solve authentic problems. Students demonstrate understanding through portfolios and Performance Based Assessment Tasks (an alternative to the NYS Regents exams). A quarterly narrative evaluation protocol provides proficiency feedback. We are a long-time member of the NY Performance Standards Consortium. Teachers build strong relationships with students through multiple roles including facilitating a Family Group (advisory experience), project based experiences, student governance committees and trip experiences. How do you ensure success for every student? Tell us about any personal and professional experiences you have had that would help you help us to fulfill our district equity goals. The Ithaca City School District is a 1:1 district in grades 3-12. Please provide examples of how you have used or your vision for using digital technology in instruction. Also, please provide evidence of how you stay current with students' digital world.

Required Qualifications:

All candidates must possess New York State Teacher Certification in World Language, 7-12 or qualify to obtain it by the first date of employment. This requires at least a Bachelor's degree.
