Contract Position Summary/Purpose:
In the Cheektowaga-Sloan UFSD, the faculty and staff are dedicated to creating a positive, student-centered learning environment that recognizes the unique needs and talents of all students by integrating character education with a critical-thinking curriculum. The emphasis is on teaching the whole child to create lifelong learners who are well prepared for college, careers, and beyond.
RESPONSIBILITIES & SKILLS
Develop and implement engaging and innovative lesson plans that align with the Languages Other Than English (LOTE) Standards Implement structured, systematic, and explicit literacy instruction aligned to evidence-based reading practices Utilize explicit instruction techniques, including clear learning targets, modeling, guided practice, and frequent checks for understanding Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse academic, linguistic, social, and emotional needs of all learners, including students with disabilities and English Language Learners Establish and maintain a classroom culture grounded in restorative practices, emphasizing strong relationships, student voice, accountability, and community Use a variety of formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress, inform instruction, and provide timely, actionable feedback Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student performance and progress Integrate instructional technology purposefully to enhance student engagement and learning Collaborate with colleagues, specialists, and support staff to improve instructional practices and student outcomes Actively participate in grade-level, school, and district meetings, and engage in ongoing professional learning Communicate effectively and consistently with students, families, and colleagues to support student success Model professionalism by maintaining high expectations for all learners and supporting them in reaching their full potential Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or her designee
Requirements:
Language other than English, Spanish Certification (7-12)
