Job Description

Are you an ESOL teacher with experience in Workforce Development seeking a part time teaching position? Catholic Chartities SWOH Educational Services is seeking part time instructors for morning and evening classes. Current classes are held at Catholic Charities, a local parish, community center and remotely. Classes meet twice per week, 3 hours each with a break and 1 hour for prep time/follow up with students. The Workforce ESOL Part-Time Teacher is responsible for facilitating student learning and continuously developing instructional strategies that meet the needs of adult learners, employers, and the community while promoting student success and self-sufficiency. This role supports Catholic Charities' mission by providing high-quality, student-centered English language instruction aligned with workforce outcomes. Each ESOL Instructor will have a specific course level and session assignment (s) for an eight- week session.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Facilitate student learning using adult general ESOL best practices and workforce-contextualized instruction. 2. Deliver instruction across in-person, hybrid, virtual, and asynchronous formats. 3. Assess student learning and provide feedback; use data to support outcomes and improvement. 4. Maintain accurate attendance, progress, and assessment records. 5. Create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment. 6. Use Canvas or LMS platforms and integrate instructional technology. 7. Support student digital literacy skill development. 8. Collaborate with staff and partners to support student success. 9. Engage community and employer partners. 10. Participate in professional development and continuous improvement. 11. Support curriculum development aligned to workforce needs.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
None Qualifications and Skill Requirements:
1. Bachelor's degree in ESOL or related fields; TESOL certification; master's degree preferred. 2. Experience teaching adult ESOL. 3. Experience with workforce or contextualized instruction. 4. Proficiency with LMS (Canvas preferred) and Microsoft Office. 5. Strong communication and ability to work with diverse populations. 6. Ability to adapt to changing needs. 7. Commitment to continuous improvement. 8. Knowledge of a foreign language is preferred.

Employees of Catholic Charities Southwestern Ohio will have knowledge of the Catholic faith, a willingness to work for a Catholic, faith-based agency and adhere to the policies of Catholic Charities. Work Environment:
Inside typical office environment, heated and air conditioned. Temperature 68 to 80 degrees F. Ambient noise, low, not requiring hearing protection. No other personal safety equipment is required.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to meet the following physical requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation: Use hands to manipulate, handle, feel, and control items or equipment; Talk to other employees/clients and hear them; See and be able to read, write, and interpret written documents; Occasionally lift and move objects weighing up to 15 pounds.
