The Department of Romance Languages and Literatures at Boston College invites applications for a full-time Instructor position of Spanish language with the rank of Visiting Lecturer. This is a non-tenure-track appointment for the academic year 2026-2027. We expect this instructorship to become a long-term three-year renewable contract position starting in AY27-28 following a favorable performance review. The expected 9-month base salary ranges (paid over 12 months) for this position is $75,000-$79,000 The actual pay offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as, but not limited to, candidate qualifications and prior experience, scope of responsibilities, internal equity, and market considerations.
Qualifications:
The applicant must have an MA or PhD (in hand by June 30, 2026) in Second Language Acquisition, Applied Linguistics, Foreign Language Education, Spanish Literature and/or Culture, or a related field. The position entails a teaching workload of 4/4 (Elementary and Intermediate Spanish). The successful candidate will also have native or near-native ability in both Spanish and English; detail-oriented organizational skills; evidence of excellence in college-level Spanish language teaching; and familiarity with computer-assisted instruction.
