Responsibilities Develop and implement age-appropriate curricula that promote literacy, numeracy, social skills, and physical activity in line with educational standards. Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to diverse learning needs, including special education and early intervention strategies. Manage classroom environments effectively to ensure safety, positive behavior, and active participation among children. Support children's emotional well-being through behavior management techniques and child welfare practices. Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and caregivers to monitor progress and adapt teaching methods accordingly. Incorporate Montessori, preschool, or daycare methodologies to enhance early childhood education experiences. Conduct assessments using standardized testing tools to track developmental milestones and inform instructional planning. Requirements High school diploma or GED required Prior experience working with children in classroom or childcare settings such as daycare, preschool, or private schools. Strong knowledge of childhood development principles, classroom management, and behavior management techniques. Familiarity with curriculum development, lesson planning, literacy education, math instruction, and physical education for young learners. Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, and team members. Follow all DSS licensing regulations and center policies Ability to adapt teaching strategies for diverse learners including toddlers and preschool-aged children. Must pass a SLED background check Must meet South Carolina DSS childcare licensing requirements CPR/First Aid certification Demonstrated commitment to child welfare and safety standards in educational environments.
