Tri-County Technical College (TCTC) is seeking a collaborative, enthusiastic, and innovative Full-Time Spanish Instructor to join our Arts and Sciences Division. The ideal candidate is a professional who wishes to serve in a dynamic, multidisciplinary division with the opportunity to engage in a myriad of professional projects, from curriculum enhancement to establishing new partnerships. The successful candidate will serve as a member of our Associate of Arts team, contributing to a collaborative environment focused on developing and maintaining a robust, relevant, and dynamic Associate of Arts program at TCTC. In this role, you will help shape a curriculum that meets the evolving needs of our students while ensuring the program remains a premier pathway for academic excellence and seamless transferability.
Position Responsibilities:
Teach introductory and intermediate Spanish courses using systematically planned and delivered instruction. Availability to teach Spanish courses across multiple modalities and settings, including community campuses, dual enrollment in local high schools, and online formats (synchronous and asynchronous), with flexibility for morning and evening classes Serve as course director for one Spanish course (SPA 101, 102, 201, or 202) Maintain accurate records of student academic progress and attendance Evaluate and support student progress and content mastery though relevant assessment and student feedback Collaborate within a highly integrated and supportive divisional structure that thrives on mutual cooperation and active engagement. The successful candidate will demonstrate a high level of collegiality and partnership, contributing to the strength of the division through dedicated service on divisional boards and committees. Serve as an academic advisor and participate in recruiting and marketing activities to foster student success. To ensure high standards of academic excellence and credentialing, applicants must possess: A master's degree in Spanish or a master's degree in any field with 18 graduate hours in Spanish. Unofficial transcripts must be submitted with the online application; applications without transcripts will not be considered. Native or near-native proficiency in Spanish and strong English communication skills Availability to teach summer courses (currently offered online) Previous teaching experience at the college or community college level Experience teaching online or hybrid courses Familiarity with ACTFL proficiency guidelines and communicative language teaching Experience working with first-generation, dual enrollment, or non-traditional students Experience in using educational technology, including Learning Management Systems (e.g., Blackboard) Tri-County Technical College offers a comprehensive benefits package for FTE positions that includes, but is not limited, to the following: Health, dental, vision, long term disability, and life insurance for employee, spouse, and children
