Job Description

Position Overview:
Academia María Reina is an all-girls Catholic college preparatory school is seeking a passionate and dedicated educator to join our faculty as a 7th-12th Grade Teacher. The ideal candidate will be committed to fostering a joyful learning environment, upholding the values of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Brentwood, NY, and demonstrating a growth mindset. This position requires teaching four courses, active participation in one or two committees, and contributing to lunch or library duties. We are seeking a candidate who embraces diversity, equity, and inclusion, is passionate about social justice, and is committed to lifelong learning.
Responsibilities:
1.
Teaching:
  • Develop and deliver engaging and challenging curriculum for 7th-12th-grade students.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners. Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes academic excellence and character development.
  • Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and technologies to enhance the learning experience.
2.
Committee Involvement:
  • Actively participate in one or two school committees, contributing to the overall development and improvement of the school community.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to implement initiatives that align with the school's mission and values.
3.
Duties:
  • Rotate duties, including lunch supervision or library duties, to contribute to the smooth functioning of the school community.
4.
Community Engagement:
  • Build positive and supportive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Attending and contributing to school events, meetings, and professional development opportunities.
5.
Mission Alignment:
  • Embrace and exemplify the values and traditions of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Brentwood, NY.
  • Model and reinforce the school's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
6.
Professional Development:
  • Demonstrate a commitment to lifelong learning by actively participating in professional development opportunities.
  • Stay current with educational trends, methodologies, and technologies.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in education or related field (master's degree preferred).
  • State teaching certification.
  • Previous experience teaching 7th-12th grade students, preferably in a Catholic or private school setting.
  • Strong commitment to fostering a joyful learning environment.

  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Pay:
From $32,000.00 per year
