Today Job Description This position is for an ESL Lead Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. Current job description and pay scale attached.
Primary Purpose:
To assist district/school staff with the implementation of the ESL instructional programs (6-12), and federally funded project(s) for greater student achievement while keeping with state mandates and guidelines. To support the full continuum of ESL services to develop, implement, maintain, and evaluate effective instructional programs to ensure that each student meets and exceeds the standards.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Bachelor's degree from accredited university. Texas Teacher Certification with credentials in 6-12 grade English Language Arts Reading Texas Teacher Certification with credentials in Bilingual Education and/or ESL Certification
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Bilingual preferred A comprehensive understanding of Bilingual/ESL compliance, curriculum, and instructional technology Knowledge of federal, state, and local Emergent Bilingual education law regulations and rules Knowledge of local and state assessments Strong organizational, communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills Demonstrate success in improving student achievement as measured by course success/failure rate in ESL and core subjects, STAAR and TELPAS results, and improved graduation rate for Emergent Bilingual students.
Experience:
Three years or more of successful teaching experience in Bilingual/Dual Language or ESL programs.
