The Spanish Instructor will deliver engaging, rigorous instruction in Spanish language and culture to students in grades 6-8, fostering fluency, cultural appreciation, and academic excellence. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong classroom management skills, a commitment to student success, and the ability to create lessons that integrate BMI's STEAM model while meeting state and national standards. Duties Develop and implement engaging, standards-based Spanish curriculum aligned with Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) . Create daily lesson plans that include interactive speaking, listening, reading, and writing activities. Integrate STEAM concepts and cross-curricular connections where appropriate. Use a variety of instructional strategies, technology, and real-world applications to support diverse learners. Assess student progress through formative and summative assessments; provide timely feedback. Maintain accurate records of grades, attendance, and student performance in accordance with school policy. Establish a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect, collaboration, and cultural awareness. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to support academic growth and character development. Participate in school events, extracurricular activities, and professional development opportunities. Collaborate with colleagues to plan interdisciplinary projects and contribute to BMI's mission as a STEAM school . Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Education, Spanish, or related field (Master's degree preferred). Valid Texas Teaching Certificate with Spanish (Grades 6-8 or equivalent) certification (preferred). Demonstrated fluency in Spanish (oral and written). Previous middle school teaching experience is preferred. Strong classroom management and organizational skills. Ability to integrate technology and innovative practices into instruction. Commitment to fostering academic excellence, character development, and cultural appreciation. Skills & Competencies Passion for teaching and inspiring middle school students. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to adapt lessons to meet the needs of diverse learners. Strong collaboration skills to work with colleagues, administrators, and families.
