  • Part-time, Contract About Us School & Nature is an outdoor educational program rethinking how children learn.
Our days are built around movement, nature, emotional development, creativity, life skills, and meaningful academics : all integrated through real-life experiences and the rhythm of the seasons. Children spend most of their day outdoors exploring forests, gardens, creeks, wildlife, science, art, teamwork, and hands-on learning. We believe children learn best when their body, emotions, curiosity, and intellect are all engaged together. This summer, we are opening our private 10-acre forest campus in Mechanicsville and are looking for passionate educators to join us. Age Groups 3-5 years old 5-9 years old Teachers may work with one or both groups depending on experience and strengths. Duties Lead and facilitate outdoor nature activities that promote Spanish Teaching in an outdoor setup. Manage classroom behavior and maintain a safe, inclusive environment during all outdoor sessions Develop age-appropriate lesson plans incorporating our core pillars. Supervise children's activities while ensuring adherence to safety protocols and first aid procedures Maintain records of attendance, daily activities, and any important behavioral or safety observations Adapt activities to weather, group dynamics, and children's developmental needs Help build a warm, organized, and inspiring learning environment for children and families What the Summer Program Looks Like Outdoor summer camp and educational program Small group sizes (6 children / 1 teacher) Private forest property with trails, creek, garden, outdoor learning spaces with indoor space for bathroom and in case of strong heat or stormy weather. Flexible curriculum combining structure with creativity Schedule Current summer schedule options: Half day (8.30am-1pm or 12.30pm-4.30pm) or full day (8.30am-4.30pm) 1 day per week or 2 mornings per week. Part-time position Summer program begins now.
