Adjunct Spanish Teacher (part time)

Community High School of Roanoke, Virginia seeks a part time teacher of SPANISH for the 2025-2026 school year. Proficiency in Spanish and a college degree are required and experience as a teacher is preferred. Community High School is a private, progressive, secular institution accredited by the Virginia Association of Independent Schools. Although we are not a conservatory, all of our students are required to take a significant number of arts courses in addition to a rigorous independent preparatory curriculum. Community High School is dedicated to small classes; teachers who prefer sustained and close working relationships with curious and dedicated students are preferred. In addition to conventional academic classes, we offer a variety of subjects not typically taught in high school, from Neuroscience to Paleoanthropology. Spanish students learn by immersion, and advanced students frequently graduate with the global seal of biliteracy in Spanish. We recruit students from a variety of backgrounds reflecting the economic, ethnic, religious and cultural diversity of the region. Our board is dedicated to keeping tuition low—currently it covers less than a third of the cost of educating each student, with additional financial aid available for all with demonstrated need.
