Job Description

This role requires you to be able to communicate, read and write in Spanish. This position works in-person at the WorkSource Mason County office in Shelton. This position will be eligible for at least 1 day of telework per week after training. This candidate excels at building trust, offering guidance, and providing structured support to individuals facing employment barriers. They are skilled in conducting interviews, assessing needs, and developing tailored employment service plans that incorporate assessment results and labor market information. They bring experience in job development, job matching, and follow
  • up services, and they maintain strong relationships with community partners, vendors, and support service providers.
Their coaching style is empathetic yet accountable, ensuring customers understand program expectations while receiving the encouragement and tools needed to overcome obstacles. The ideal candidate is also a highly organized facilitator and instructor who can design and deliver engaging curriculum, workshops, and orientations for diverse learners. They are adept at using varied instructional strategies, integrating technology, and creating clear course materials that support defined learning outcomes. With strong attention to detail, they manage caseloads, maintain accurate records, and comply with state and federal data requirements. They are proactive, resourceful, and collaborative—someone who can balance instructional responsibilities with case management, reporting, and continuous customer engagement to support successful program outcomes. Facilitate orientations and workshops.
This includes:
Conduct group and individual orientations, and workshops, supply program specific information about services, benefits, and eligibility Facilitate job preparation activities to include job club services and workshops; provide labor market information Create and provide each student with clear course expectations, evaluations and timelines through carefully written topical outlines and approved, standardized syllabus. Ensure course and program learning outcomes are delivered as defined by the syllabus. Develop and/or provide comprehensive, customer-centered employment and training services.
This includes:
Conduct staff assisted job development, job matches and job follow-up; make job referrals; verify customer job search Ensure the customer understands and follows all employment and training directives, expectations, and performance standards Develop and sustain relationships with vendors and the community; keep informed of available external resources and referrals Assess knowledge, skills, and abilities to assist in determining employment and training activities and benefits.
This includes:
Administer a variety of assessments and informal and formal career tools; review and explain results; incorporate assessment results into employment plans in conjunction with relevant labor market information; prepare and present information to customer Develop and utilize a variety of instructional strategies appropriate to the needs of students, including the integration of technology, and guest speakers To request a detailed position description, click here . One year as a WorkSource Specialist 3 or equivalent class within the Employment Security Department, or another state's Employment Security agency OR A Bachelor's degree in social science, business administration or related field and three years of professional level experience in workforce development, social or human resource services, public relations, or professional public contact work OR A combination of education and/or relevant experience equal to 7 years Required equity competencies: The ability to take action to learn and grow The ability to take action to meet the needs of others

Proficiency in structuring learning sessions for targeted job seekers Subject-matter expertise: in legal, financial, or behavioral health topics, communication skills to effectively guide individuals, empathy & interpersonal skills to build trust, problem-solving to address client challenges, and adaptability to tailor coaching to different needs
