Head of School About the Position This is an anticipated opening due to enrollment growth. We seek an innovative Spanish teacher to join our International Baccalaureate World School for the 2026-2027 school year. This position primarily teaches IB MYP Spanish (grades 6-10), with the possibility of teaching IB DP Spanish courses depending on candidate experience and school needs. The successful candidate will be comfortable teaching middle school students across multiple grade levels and proficiency ranges, and may have the opportunity to teach DP Spanish B or Spanish ab initio.Teaching Load:
1.0 FTE. A typical full time teaching assignment includes 5 teaching periods, 2 planning periods, and 1 paid lunch periodContract Period:
Mid-August through mid-June About Willows Preparatory School WPS is a private IB World School serving 310+ students in grades 5-12. We offer an individualized, internationally benchmarked curriculum with small class sizes (typically no more than 16 students). Our academically advanced students typically work above grade level, and our collaborative culture emphasizes inquiry-based learning. WPS is a member of the International Schools Partnership (ISP), a network of 100+ high-performing schools worldwide.Essential Responsibilities Planning and Instruction :
Design and facilitate inquiry-based learning experiences with clear objectives, varied instructional strategies, and student-centered approaches. Utilize multiple curricular resources to create dynamic, engaging lessons aligned with IB frameworks.Assessment and Feedback :
Integrate formative assessment throughout instruction and use data to inform teaching decisions. Employ varied summative assessment strategies and provide timely qualitative and quantitative feedback to students and families through our school management system.Collaboration :
Participate actively in department and interdisciplinary team collaboration. Engage in regular professional dialogue with colleagues about curriculum, instruction, and assessment practices.Community Engagement:
Participate in school events including Back to School Night, Open House, Celebration of Learning, and graduation. Contribute to the broader school community through clubs, activities, or other co-curricular opportunities. All teachers and school leaders chaperone one overnight experiential learning trip each year. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution (required) Teaching certification and/or equivalent experience Secondary Spanish endorsement (preferred) Experience teaching Spanish at middle or high school level Proficiency with educational technology Strong communication skills for partnering with students, families, and colleagues Commitment to ongoing professional growth Two professional references Successful completion of background check covering previous 10 years Valued Experience Teaching in alternative or progressive educational settings International Baccalaureate programme experience (MYP or DP) Curriculum development experience Interdisciplinary collaborationComprehensive Benefits Package Insurance:
