Job Description

Job Summary:
Hope School in West Seattle is looking for a part-time Spanish Teacher, responsible for teaching K-8 second language classes, including weekly classes for grades K-5 and a middle school elective class.
Qualifications:
1) Holds Bachelor degree, preferably in Education or related field 2) Experience in teaching and/or tutoring; be able to relate well to young children and adults 3) Demonstrated ability to clearly and effectively teach students 4) Ability to work in a dynamic environment 5) Required background check 6) Be aware of and supportive of the beliefs of the
Lutheran Church Missouri Synod Job Responsibilities:
1) Plan, organize, develop and conduct a comprehensive instructional program for students. 2) Responsible for keeping accurate grading records for each student and reporting these grades at appropriate times. 3) Research and implement best practices in Spanish teaching and create lessons that engage students. 4) Work accurately, completely and promptly. 5) Work independently and devise appropriate methods for instruction.
Communication:
1) Communicate clearly and often with students and colleagues. 2) Assist in public relations events and special school events such as open houses as needed.
Health and Safety:
1) Conduct disaster and fire drills with the school. 2) Be responsible for the order and cleanliness of the classroom. Follow all health protocols as needed.
Personnel:
1) Be aware of and comply with all personnel policies. 2) Treat each person with dignity and respect. 3) Attend scheduled staff meetings; attend conferences and in-service training as requested.
Job Types:

$25.00 - $40.00 per hour
