Job Description

The Director of Faculty Development and Calibration provides leadership in planning, implementing, and evaluating faculty developmentinitiatives and faculty calibration processes within the predoctoral dental program. This position promotes excellence in teaching,consistency in clinical supervision, and reliability in student assessment across courses and clinical disciplines. The Directorworks collaboratively with course directors, department chairs, and academic leadership to support evidence-based teaching practices,faculty growth, and continuous improvement in alignment with institutional goals and accreditation standards. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement annual faculty development plans aligned with institutional and program goals Plan andcoordinate faculty workshops, training sessions, and the Annual LU-SDM Faculty Inservice Program Support faculty onboarding,mentorship, and professional development initiatives Coordinate faculty calibration activities to ensure consistency in grading,student assessment, and clinical evaluation Collaborate with course directors to develop standardized grading rubrics andevaluation methods Participate in didactic instruction, preclinical laboratory teaching, and/or clinical supervision as assigned Assist with accreditation preparation, program review, and continuous quality improvement efforts Serve oninstitutional committees related to curriculum, assessment, and faculty affairs Participate in scholarly activities related todental education and educational innovation
