Post Doctoral Fellow-Biology Posting Number req36444 Employment Type Faculty Faculty Type Hiring Department AS Biology General Administrative (048F) Academic Location Campus Main - Albuquerque, NM Benefits Eligible Postdoctoral Fellows may be eligible to receive certain UNM benefits . Position Summary The postdoc will be actively involved in allcomponents of the project, including microdissection, RNA extraction,sequencing, and bioinformatic analyses. He will take the lead on performing andwriting the meta-analysis of publicly available transcriptomic datasets fromplant gall systems. The postdoc will also lead the gall developmental timeseries from the six focal cynipid species. These efforts are essential foraccomplishing Aims 2 and 3 of the funded USDA grant. In addition to theirresearch responsibilities, the postdoc will be expected to be an engaged memberof the lab, contributing to mentoring trainees, participating in lab meetings,and maintaining a collaborative and well-functioning laboratory environment.
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:
PHD in discipline by the start date of appointment Preferred Qualification Genomic and bioinformatic experience as evidenced by CV. Experience with RNA-Seq data as evidenced by CV. A demonstrated commitment to cultivate an understanding of the rich and varied cultures of New Mexico and to the success of the university's mission to serve local and global communities as evidenced by CV.
