DESCRIPTION
The Natural Science Department in the College of Arts, Sciences, and Professional Studies at Gwynedd Mercy University invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position in molecular physiology for the 2026-2027 academic year. Preference will be given to applicants with a background in forensic science and/or who are bilingual or multilingual. For full consideration, applicants should submit a cover letter, curriculum vita, three letters of recommendation, a brief research summary, and a statement of teaching philosophy. Review of applications will begin on April 10, 2026, and the search will remain open until the position is filled. The selected candidate will need to provide official undergraduate and graduate transcripts before hire.Key Responsibilities:
Teach anatomy and physiology for students in the health sciences. Develop and teach an upper-level physiology course for biology majors. Teach a variety of courses for biology majors and non-majors, as needed. Develop an undergraduate research program and mentor students engaged in research. Advise biology students. Assist in curriculum and course development. Explore grant opportunities to support research and program offerings.POSITION REQUIREMENTS AND EXPECTATIONS A
Ph.D. in biology, physiology, molecular biology, or related discipline; ABD with degree completion by August 2026 is acceptable. Evidence of excellence in teaching undergraduate courses. Demonstration of a strong commitment to research with undergraduate students. Facility with in-person, hybrid, and online instruction. Understanding of the value of a liberal arts education.EOE STATEMENT
