Appointments carry no guarantee or expectation of renewal or tenure. Minimum Education and Experience An earned graduate degree appropriate to the academic discipline/topic and a record of productivity and professional achievement. Preferred Education and Experience Candidates must have a Master's degree (PhD preferred) in a relevant discipline in the biological sciences. All candidates are expected to work effectively in a highly collaborative, engaging, and dynamic environment comprised of individuals of diverse backgrounds, skills, and perspectives. Other Qualifications To the extent this position requires the holder to research, work on, or have access to critical infrastructure as defined in Section 117.001(2) of the Texas Business and Commerce Code, the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the critical infrastructure is a minimum qualification to be hired and to continue to be employed in the position. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Prepare and teach undergraduate classes and/or labs; Maintain contact with student population in the classroom and via electronic learning platforms (eLearning); Contribute assessment information and data as requested through the administration and the Assessment Team; Participate in course evaluation surveys. This is a pooled position, meaning the Department will look to hire from this pool only if needed through the academic year and no offer employment is guaranteed. Special Instructions Summary Recruit up to 0.5 full-time equivalent instructional faculty at the rank of Lecturer to meet emergent needs in biological sciences lecture and laboratory courses. These courses may include introductory biology, microbiology, biochemistry, and others in the broad field of biological sciences.
