Applicants should have an earned doctorate (PhD, MD and/or DVM), postdoctoral research experience, a record of accomplishment of research productivity through high quality publications and a record of successful extramural funding commensurate with the seniority level for which they are applying. The new faculty members will join thirteen teams of VT cancer researchers already in place at the FBRI cancer research centers in Roanoke and Washington DC as well as additional cancer researchers from across the Virginia Tech campus and at the Children's National Hospital. The successful candidates will primarily be expected to maintain a high-quality, extramurally-funded cancer research program. They will also have the opportunity to participate in some teaching of graduate students and to serve as a research mentor for VT graduate, medical and undergraduate students. Competitive salaries, space, and start-up packages will be provided. Applicants with particular expertise and emphasis in cell and gene therapies whether using experimental laboratory approaches and/or computational modeling and informatics approaches are of particular interest for these searches.
