welcoming, positive, supportive, and engaged colleagues Position Overview We are seeking a passionate Upper School Business Teacher to join our team for the 2026-2027 school year. The ideal candidate is passionate about business education, committed to building real-world skills in students, and excited to contribute to a vibrant school community. Position Responsibilities Teach one section of a Business course each semester, one of which will be Introduction to Business. Establish and run Dawson's DECA program. Envision, develop, and build the school's emerging Business/Entrepreneurship program. Envision, develop, and build the school's emerging Business/Entrepreneurship Distinction. Potentially participate in school trips and Winterim, supporting experiential learning opportunities. Potentially support the team working on Dawson's internship program. Collaborate with colleagues to strengthen our business program and overall student experience. Develop engaging, relevant, and rigorous curriculum aligned with school standards. Foster a classroom environment that inspires curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking. Support students in developing practical, real-world business and financial literacy skills. Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary projects and program development. Maintain clear communication with students, families, and the broader school community. Participate in school events, professional development, and extracurricular activities. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in Business, Education, or related field preferred. Experience teaching business or working in a business-related field. Strong interest in program building and curriculum innovation. Commitment to student-centered learning and engagement outside the classroom. Demonstrated classroom management skills. An attitude that exemplifies teamwork and personal responsibility. The ability to make effective and appropriate use of technology in instruction. A dedication to maintaining strict confidentiality in all matters. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative and flexible approach. A commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive learning environment. Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive information. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail and professionalism. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace (Google Suite).
