Develop and deliver engaging, exploratory Career and Technical Education (CTE) instruction in business, management, administration, entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and information management for middle school students in grades 5â€"8. Create student-centered learning experiences that introduce students to careers in business, finance, entrepreneurship, marketing, management, and information technology aligned to Delaware Pathways and middle grades career exploration standards. Foster career awareness, self-awareness, employability skills, and foundational technical skills that prepare students for success in high school pathways and future postsecondary opportunities. Design and facilitate project-based, inquiry-driven, and collaborative learning experiences that connect classroom instruction to real-world business applications and workforce expectations. Integrate instruction in entrepreneurship, financial literacy, digital citizenship, communication, customer service, problem-solving, teamwork, leadership, ethics, and workplace professionalism. Utilize current technology tools, business software applications, and digital productivity platforms to support instruction and develop students' technology and information management skills. Support students in exploring personal interests, strengths, career possibilities, and educational pathways through career exploration activities, guest speakers, simulations and career research. Collaborate with school counselors, administrators, CTE staff, and academic teachers to support Student Success Plans (SSPs), career readiness initiatives, and smooth transitions into high school pathway opportunities. Maintain alignment with Delaware Department of Education CTE standards, Delaware middle grades exploration standards, and district curriculum expectations. Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse academic, social-emotional, and developmental needs of middle school learners. Establish and maintain a safe and positive classroom environment that promotes student engagement, creativity, collaboration, and responsible decision-making. Assess student learning using a variety of formative and summative measures and utilize data to inform instructional planning and student growth. Build partnerships with local businesses, community organizations, industry representatives, and postsecondary institutions to strengthen career exploration opportunities for students. Participate in ongoing professional learning related to Career and Technical Education, middle grades instructional practices, workforce trends, and Delaware Pathways initiatives. Maintain accurate student records, instructional documentation, inventory, and program compliance requirements in accordance with district and state expectations. Participate in department or team meetings, professional development, and other school-related duties as requested. Make reasonable efforts to provide for the care and protection of school property, equipment, and materials. Practice sound interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students and families. Maintain a professional relationship, working cooperatively with all school personnel. Report to work on time every workday, except as afforded by existing law. Perform other duties as directed by the school administration to meet student needs. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to fluently speak and understand English. The teacher must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands/fingers, and reach with hands and arms. Must be able to stand and work continuously for a minimum of 4 hours per workday. While performing the duties of this job, expect occasional exposure to outdoor weather conditions.SALARY AND TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
