Job Description

This instructor will teach courses such as: Introduction to Computers, Information Computing, Computer Essentials, Introduction to Business, Business Law, Principles of Management, Principles of Marketing, Public Relations & Marketing, Personal Finance, and other business and entrepreneurship related courses. Courses may be delivered on-campus, live virtual, hybrid, fully online, or with a combination of delivery systems. Course enrollment may include college students and/or dual enrolled high school students.

Master's degree in Business or Business Administration required. Master's degree in Management, Leadership, Marketing or Advertising with a minimum of 12 graduate semester hours in business or business administration will be considered. College level teaching experience preferred. On-line and zoom teaching experience preferred. Must relate well to students and colleagues. Must demonstrate a high degree of competency within the discipline to be taught. Teach courses in accordance with objectives of the course outline as set forth by the division using a variety of instructional methods and technologies that facilitates learning for all students. Organize and present various concepts to a wide range of students with varying backgrounds and abilities, and adjust teaching techniques accordingly. Develop and maintain current course syllabi/outlines for assigned courses. Assist in planning and carrying out studies and surveys. Maintain cooperative relationships with professional personnel, local organizations, public officials and other interested people. Assist in maintaining public relations with the local community and take part in community relations when possible. Assist in program promotion and recruitment of students, provide academic advising as needed, assist with retention of students, and assist in the placement and follow up of graduates. Represent the College in the most positive manner with prospective, former and current students, clients, suppliers and the community. Meet all assigned classes and office hour commitments as scheduled. Attend and participate in all scheduled faculty/department meetings unless excused by the division dean or program director. Emphasize to students the importance of prompt and regular class attendance. Measure and evaluate student progress and maintain accurate grade computations. Prepare and submit accurate grade reports as requested. Utilize learning management system as a platform to help deliver course, record grades, and communicate with students. Communicate effectively with students in a timely manner. Participate in business and other advisory committee meetings. Submit reports/alerts on all students who may be in need of counsel. Serve actively on any committee to which appointed. Keep accurate inventories of equipment and supplies and submit requisitions for needed materials. Promptly report repairs needed for the classroom and equipment. Stay up to date with trends in the field and update program curriculum and equipment as appropriate. Assist in coaching and observing concurrent enrollment faculty teaching for the business department. Assist in the program review evaluation procedure Meet the standards of the college's Quality Faculty Plan. Maintain regular and consistent attendance at work. Maintain professional appearance in office and classroom areas. Other duties as assigned.
