Building Principal, Director of Adult/Career and Technical Education Basic Function:
This full-time position requires a certified teacher who will successfully develop and implement all aspects of an aviation management program for high school students.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and develops workplace attitudes. Has working knowledge of the subject matter, classroom management techniques, and current researched best practices and strategies, and students' learning styles and needs. Update the curriculum to meet changing IN state standards and meet current NLPS requirements. Establishes developmentally appropriate instructional and behavioral expectations for students and communicates those to students and their families. Creates lessons and learning environments that are safe, respectful, and interesting, as well as multicultural, gender-fair, disability sensitive. Selects, adapts, and individualizes materials appropriate for diverse student populations and skills. Teaches students the required curricula using strategies that foster thinking, reasoning, and problem solving. Manage the behavioral, social, and emotional issues of a diverse ethnic/racial student poulation. Integrate academic standards for reading, writing and math skills into the curriculum. Participates in ongoing and regular staff and individual professional development. Demonstrate experience implementing innovative instructional programs. Regularly assesses student learning by using multiple forms of assessment. Collaborates with peers to develop, plan, and implement best practices based on the needs/abilities of the students. Qualifications Must hold a valid Indiana vocational license in
Trade and Industrial:
Aviation Operations orMust be able to obtain, at a minimum, an Indiana Workplace Specialist I teacher license in aviation operations. Must have at least 5000 hours (2.5 years) of relevant industry experience in the last 5 years.
