Job Description

Position Summary:
This position requires a qualified Career and Technical Education Business & Marketing instructor or an individual with a minimum of three years of occupational related experience who will successfully develop and implement all aspects of the
CTE NLPS
Pathway, Marketing & Sales Duties:
Possess all requirements for teaching business education Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and develops workplace readiness skills Has working knowledge of the subject matter, classroom management techniques, and current researched best practices and strategies, and students' learning styles and needs Implement Next Level Programs of Study curriculum, adding industry standards when needed Establish developmentally appropriate instructional and behavioral expectations for students and communicates those to students and their families Provide appropriate instruction for students to earn dual credits with post-secondary institutions when appropriate Create lessons and learning environments that are safe, respectful, and interesting, as well as multicultural, gender-fair, disability sensitive. Selects, adapts, and individualizes materials appropriate for diverse student populations and skills Teache students the required curricula using strategies that foster thinking, reasoning, and problem solving Manage the behavioral, social, and emotional issues of a diverse ethnic/racial student population Integrate core academic standards for reading, writing and math skills into the curriculum Participate in ongoing and regular staff and individual professional development Demonstrate experience implementing innovative instructional programs Collaborate and communicates regularly with families in making educational decisions and use family and community resources Regularly assess student learning by using multiple forms of assessment Collaborate with peers to develop, plan, and implement best practices based on the needs/abilities of the students
SPECIAL CHARACTERISTICS OF THE POSITION
Minimum qualifications: Must hold a valid Indiana vocational license in Business or have three years experience in building trades and be able to qualify for a vocational certification. Must be able to obtain, at a minimum, an Indiana Occupational (Workplace) Specialist I teacher license. Individuals may qualify for an occupational teaching license based upon three years (6000 hours) of directly related work experience within the field within the past five years. A traditional teaching license is desirable but is not required. Prior teaching experience in urban education preferred but not required Organizational skills required Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with students, faculty and administration. Knowledge in the use of Google Suite
