Job Description

This position is responsible for preparing for and teaching courses in assigned discipline in order to achieve course requirements and student success outcomes. Course assignments may occur in a classroom setting or dual enrollment environment. Teaches assigned classroom courses. Develops and updates syllabi for courses assigned and ensures course content and requirements meet the requirements of college and accreditation agencies. Develops appropriate assessment tools to determine course effectiveness and assures that student outcomes are achieved. Assesses student academic achievement and provides students with timely and meaningful feedback on progress in the course(s). Maintains and reports appropriate classroom records, including student attendance and grades. Holds appropriate office hours for meeting with and assisting students. Maintains regular communication with full-time in the assigned departments(s), the Library and Learning Services area, and Registrar and Retention Services. Attends and participates in staff meetings and in-service programs within the department and college-wide; serves on college committees as encouraged/assigned. Supports and serves as a role model for our mission, vision, and student service initiatives. Adheres to the policies, procedures, and compliance guidelines of the college. Ensures all communications and practices demonstrate support of the Ethics for Teaching Professionals. Supports and serves as a role model for our mission, vision, strategic and service initiatives. Adheres to the organization's policies & procedures and compliance guidelines. Performs other duties as assigned.
Education, Certification, Licensure:
Master's Degree in Business Administration, Management, Marketing, Human Resources, or Master's Degree with 18 graduate hours in the subject area.Experience:
One to three years of teaching college-level courses in the discipline is preferred. Previous experience in a community college environment is preferred. Knowledge of course content and learning objectives of the assigned course(s). Ability to develop and effectively deliver course content/objectives and facilitate an effective learning environment for students to maximize their success. Knowledge of computer and educational technology and ability to effectively integrate technology into the classroom. Ability to plan, organize and manage multiple priorities effectively. Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and be comfortable working in a close, collaborative manner with other faculty and administration.Similar jobs in Harrison, MI
