Job Description

William Woods University invites applications for a full-time faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor of Business Administration . Primary teaching areas include Business, Leadership, Ethics, Management, and Strategy. This position supports undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs through teaching, scholarship, and dissertation supervision. The role includes both on-ground instruction at the Fulton, Missouri campus and online teaching responsibilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Teach undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral courses in business administration in both on-ground and online formats. Maintain a standard teaching load of 9 credit hours per semester. Chair a minimum of three doctoral dissertation committees per semester (six annually), providing mentorship and oversight through completion. Contribute to curriculum development, program assessment, and continuous improvement initiatives. Engage in service activities that support the mission of the School, University, and broader academic community. Scholarship Expectations Demonstrate engagement in scholarly activity, with preference given to candidates with an established record of peer-reviewed publications. Maintain ongoing contributions to the field through research, presentations, or applied scholarship aligned with institutional priorities.
Position Requirements:
Doctoral degree in Business Administration or a closely related discipline is required. Evidence of teaching effectiveness in higher education is preferred. Experience teaching across multiple modalities (on-ground and online) is preferred. Demonstrated ability to supervise doctoral research is highly desirable. Strong commitment to student success, academic excellence, and collegial collaboration. Proficiency in using learning management systems such as Brightspace (D2L) or equivalent. Salary:
$53,000 - $58,000. Depending on whether appointed as an Assistant or Associate Professor.
Typical Physical Demands:
Ability to climb several flights of stairs several times each day. Ability to lift, push or pull up to 20 pounds. Ability to sit or stand for long periods. Ability to speak and read English fluently. Must possess a Missouri driver's license and adhere to the WWU vehicle policy. Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without a reasonable accommodation.
Work Schedule:
WWU provides employees and their dependents with an opportunity to enroll in undergraduate, master's or doctoral coursework for credit at the university at a free or reduced cost. Employees interested in undergraduate degrees are eligible upon completion of three months of service. Master's or doctoral (including EDS) level degrees begin upon completion of six months of service.
