Lewisville, NC Job Details Part-time 22 hours ago Qualifications Computer operation Google Workspace Computer literacy Financial concepts Computer skills Productivity software Full Job Description Part-time - 1 period per day, every other day Forsyth Country Day School is seeking an engaging and knowledgeable part-time instructor to lead our semester-long Introduction to Personal Finance course in the fall and spring semesters. This course is a vital component of our Upper School curriculum, designed to foster financial literacy and help students navigate the complexities of personal finance. The successful candidate will be responsible for de-mystifying financial concepts and equipping our students with the practical knowledge necessary to make informed decisions throughout their lives.
Key Responsibilities Instruction:
Deliver a comprehensive survey course covering core personal finance topics, including: Investing and wealth building Budgeting and money management Credit cards and credit management Mortgages and debt
Insurance Engagement:
Facilitate dynamic classroom discussions that encourage critical thinking and real-world application.
Enrichment:
Organize and coordinate guest speakers from the financial community to bring professional insights into the classroom.
Student Support:
Foster an inclusive learning environment that meets students where they are, helping them build confidence in their financial decision-making. Qualifications Demonstrated expertise in personal finance, financial planning, or related fields. Prior experience in secondary education or a strong desire to teach and mentor high school students. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to translate complex financial concepts into accessible, engaging lessons for high school students. Ability to positively contribute to a team environment and to our school community
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Regularly required to sit or stand for extended periods, walk, talk, hear, operate a computer, reach with hands and arms, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds Must be able to operate a computer and have basic knowledge of Google Workspace Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the school and other facilities as needed Must be able to utilize oral and written communication skills effectively
