Aug 5, 2026 Job Description The Career Academy Business Teacher The Career Academy is a dual credit high school for juniors and seniors in LPS. Students attend 2 hours per day with a focus on a career pathway while taking 1 LPS graduation requirement per semester. As we continue to expand in our offerings and numbers we are hiring a business teacher. The position will be responsible for teaching sections of Take Charge and possibly Economics, Information Technology, and/or other business offerings. The other exciting opportunity with this position is to help grow our business partnerships through programs like 1st Job Lincoln which lead to pathway internships and job opportunities. Lincoln Public Schools is seeking a candidate with a commitment to excellence in education. Candidate will possess an ability to establish a strong classroom environment that supports highly engaging instruction. Candidate will need to work collaboratively with multiple team members. A strong candidate for this position would have exceptional instructional and classroom management skills, demonstrate effective communication skills and strong academic/curriculum skills, use assessment to drive instruction, provide quality feedback to all learners, as well as a desire to teach in a culturally rich school environment. Ability to create strong relationships with all students; effective communication skills; daily use of assessment to drive instruction and quality feedback to all learners; willingness to serve the community in all aspects; learner in the art and science of teaching; a reflective educator, an individual who understands the practices of cultural proficiency and applies those practices with students, staff and families. This position is subject to a veterans preference. Certificated Professional Agreement
