Building Principal Position Summary The Business Teacher for grades 5-8 is responsible for delivering engaging instruction in foundational business concepts, financial literacy, and career readiness. The position emphasizes real-world applications, digital skills, and preparing students with practical knowledge for future academic and career success. Key Responsibilities Plan and deliver standards-based instruction in business, financial literacy, and career exploration Teach topics such as budgeting, saving, entrepreneurship, marketing, digital citizenship, and basic economics Integrate technology tools (e.g., spreadsheets, presentations, digital platforms) into instruction Promote problem-solving, collaboration, and critical thinking skills Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, including students with IEPs and English Language Learners Assess student progress through projects, presentations, and formative assessments Create a positive, organized, and engaging classroom environment Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary and career-readiness initiatives Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school committees Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business Education, Education, or related field (Master's preferred) Valid New York State Teaching Certification in Business and Marketing Education (or appropriate certification) Strong understanding of financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and business concepts Experience integrating technology into instruction Preferred Qualifications Experience teaching middle school students (grades 5-8) Familiarity with career and technical education (CTE) frameworks Experience with project-based learning and real-world simulations Knowledge of culturally responsive teaching practices Working Conditions Classroom setting within a middle school Regular use of technology and instructional tools Performance Expectations Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment Support student growth in practical life and career skills Maintain accurate records and meet all district deadlines Adhere to district policies and professional standards Job Category Teacher Job Location Middle School
