We are seeking a dynamic MBA (hybrid residential and online) and BSBA department chair to take this unique, growing and successful program to the next level. The ideal candidate will understand the importance of an integrative management degree that highlights cutting edge business management, psychology, complexity, and systems thinking. Working collaboratively with colleagues and faculty from Chinese language programs and terminal degree programs, sound global business academic pathways will be created for students. With a track record of solid business experience, the department chair will also have a minimum of 3 years of experience leading an academic business program or 4 years assisting in the leadership of a business program. Ideally, they have experience working with both domestic international students and online learners overseas. An excellent academic record is a must and experience working with business school accreditation is a plus. Lead innovative program and course development with the business team, including curriculum design, the development of experiential and applied learning assignments, ensuring humanistic, whole-person business and sustainable change and transformation principles. Develop and manage the program budget, ensuring resources are allocated efficiently to support program goals in collaboration with the Provost, Dean of Global Business and Leadership, Chairs of other business and computer programs, and Global College. Actively support and participate in outreach and marketing for continued student growth. Recruit, develop, mentor, and lead a diverse team of faculty members who are experts in the various functional areas of management. Recruit, develop, mentor and lead a diverse team of administrative staff and faculty supporting the programs. Oversee faculty and administrative staff performance, including evaluations, mentorship, and professional development opportunities. Create an inclusive and supportive learning environment where students from diverse global backgrounds can thrive. Lead program review and collaborate with administration on student assessment initiatives in your department. Limited teaching in the area of expertise in an online or hybrid residential modality. Influence, collaborate, and provide tangible support for sustainable practices and processes with departments supporting the chair including ISO, Registrar, Admissions, and Instructional Design. Attend Chairs' Council and serve as academic leader. Serve as Ambassador for Sofia at various professional events and by cultivating new partnerships. Establish advising programs, workshops, and networking opportunities to enhance student experiences. Pursue specialty accreditation with the DBA and DBAC programs, likely from ACBSP. Other duties as assigned.Qualifications:
A PhD/DBA with a business or leadership degree from a regionally accredited institution. Eight or more years of professional business experience leading change efforts or managing complex business lines. Minimum of 3-4 years prior experience as a leader in a higher education business program. Experience in teaching at the master's level is preferred. Experience in curriculum development, program scheduling, program review, and accreditation. Experience in hiring, leading and developing core faculty, adjunct faculty, and administrative support staff. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues, faculty, students, staff, and external partners. Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility in education. An appreciation for whole person learning, trends in managing businesses during internal and external changes, and transpersonal/humanistic psychology and its integration into business or leadership practices. Experience as an educator in the field of business, leadership, or management.
