Professor Expectations:

Business Management Faculty Team:
Cisco College invites applications for a full-time, tenuretrack Professor of Business and Management to support the continued growth and success of the Business program, which includes Business (academic transfer Associate of Arts, Business) and Management (career and technical Associate of Applied Science/Level II Certificate/Level I Certificate, Management). This position is designed for a dynamic educator who is passionate about student success, workforce readiness, and applied business education. The successful candidate will teach a variety of undergraduate Business and Management courses and contribute to curriculum development. The professor will play an active role in expanding and strengthening the business and management programs at Cisco College and in the Abilene area. This position supports Cisco Colleges mission of providing accessible, high-quality education that prepares students for transfer to four-year institutions and immediate entry into the workforce. This position is housed within the Business & Management Division and supports the Business Administration academic pathway as well as the Management Career and Technical Education pathway, which serves both transfer-oriented students and those seeking direct entry into the workforce. The faculty member will teach within the Business Administration and Management program, delivering core coursework in management and related business disciplines. The position reports to the Dean of Academic Programs and works in close collaboration with the Business Program Director, fellow business faculty, general education instructors, academic advisors, dual-credit, and workforce development partners. The faculty member will also engage with external stakeholders, including local business leaders, internship partners, and four-year university transfer institutions, to support student success, program growth, and community engagement.
Professor Responsibilities:
Design and deliver high-quality courses for all student cohorts across online, hybrid, and in-person modalities to achieve course outcomes and ensure alignment with state, institutional, and division standards. Maintain an active instructional presence by initiating meaningful interaction with students in all course modalities, facilitating engagement, delivering direct instruction and clarification, and providing timely, substantive feedback directly and through the LMS and other approved instructional technologies. Respond to student inquiries in a timely and supportive manner, provide guidance that promotes persistence and course completion, and refer students needing additional support to the appropriate college resources. Maintain a minimum of five posted office hours per week and provide additional availability by appointment as appropriate to student needs. Submit syllabi, grades, and attendance accurately and on time; maintain all required course documentation. Participate in student learning assessment and institutional effectiveness to support a culture of continuously seeking improvement, including alignment with institutional goals. Engage in ongoing professional growth by staying current in discipline and pedagogy, and completing all elements of the Faculty Evaluation Plan, including setting goals to improve course design, delivery, and student learning. Assist with advising students and support registration, orientation, and career pathways as needed. Assist in building and supporting community partnerships including specialized training programs for local employers. Represent the Business program in the local community. Support the mission of the College through committee service and participation in faculty and division meetings and commencement activities. Represent the College positively in the classroom, on campus, and in the community. Collaborate professionally with the Program Director, faculty, staff, and administrators on scheduling, curriculum planning, and continuous improvement. Follow college policies, communicate through appropriate reporting lines, and complete additional duties as assigned.
Required Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
Master's degree in teaching discipline or Masters degree in a related discipline and a minimum of 18 graduate hours in the teaching discipline Effective verbal and written communication skills Demonstrated teaching ability Enthusiasm for teaching and student success Ongoing participation in professional development or membership in relevant academic/professional organizations
Preferred Qualifications:
Masters degree in Business Experience teaching in multiple modalities (in-person, hybrid, online) Experience with assessment and evidence-based teaching practices
Posting and Application Details:
This position is based at the Abilene campus of Cisco College but may require teaching at either campus, dual credit partner high school locations, or online. This is a full-time, 9-month contract position. Cisco College offers a generous benefit package, including comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance. Member-only medical coverage and $5,000 of basic term life is provided at no cost to the employee. Other coverages are selected by the employee and payment made through payroll deduction.
