Pine Tree Independent School District, Longview, TX Position Overview Pine Tree High School is seeking an Entrepreneurship Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. The Entrepreneurship teacher will join our Career and Technical Education (CTE) team to deliver a dynamic, project-based program that prepares students for careers in business, entrepreneurship, finance, management, and related fields. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of business experience and instructional passion, helping students develop entrepreneurial thinking, financial literacy, professionalism, and workplace readiness through authentic learning experiences. This position includes serving as Co-Advisor for Pine Tree High School's DECA chapter and providing students with opportunities to engage in business competitions, leadership development, and real-world business projects. Scope of Responsibilities Teach high school business and entrepreneurship courses aligned with the Texas Education Agency's Business, Marketing, and Finance Career Cluster. Potential courses include Entrepreneurship I, Entrepreneurship II, and Personal Financial Literacy. Design and deliver engaging, project-based instruction that reflects real-world business, entrepreneurship, and financial management practices. Create authentic learning experiences that allow students to develop business plans, analyze markets, solve business challenges, and explore entrepreneurial opportunities. Embed industry-standard business practices, professional expectations, and workplace skills into daily instruction. Foster student growth in employability skills, including communication, leadership, teamwork, professionalism, critical thinking, and problem-solving. Serve as Co-Advisor for Pine Tree High School's DECA chapter, supporting student participation in competitions, conferences, leadership development activities, and community engagement opportunities. Prepare students for success in business-related competitions and career development events. Build relationships with local businesses, entrepreneurs, community organizations, and post-secondary partners to expand student opportunities. Promote work-based learning opportunities, internships, job shadowing experiences, guest speakers, and industry engagement activities. Provide mentorship and guidance to students pursuing careers in business, entrepreneurship, finance, marketing, management, and related fields. Maintain program records, inventories, budgets, and documentation as required by district, state, and federal guidelines. Collaborate with fellow CTE teachers to create interdisciplinary learning opportunities and strengthen the overall student experience. Support recruitment and retention efforts for the Entrepreneurship pathway and DECA program. Maintain an "all in" attitude - when everyone helps a little, the biggest challenges can be overcome! Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Business, Entrepreneurship, Finance, Marketing, Management, Economics, or a related field (preferred) Professional experience in business, entrepreneurship, finance, management, sales, marketing, or a related industry (preferred) Experience working in education, training, coaching, mentoring, or youth development (preferred) Texas Educator Certification in Business and Finance or a related content area (preferred) Qualified industry professionals interested in pursuing alternative certification are encouraged to apply Skills & Requirements Strong knowledge of business operations, entrepreneurship, personal finance, and professional workplace expectations Ability to create an engaging, structured, and industry-aligned learning environment Strong classroom management, organizational, and communication skills Ability to collaborate with CTE staff, post-secondary partners, and local business leaders Passion for mentoring students and preparing them for real-world success Commitment to fostering leadership, innovation, and entrepreneurial thinking in students About the Program The Entrepreneurship Program at Pine Tree High School provides students with authentic, hands-on experiences that prepare them for careers in business, entrepreneurship, finance, and leadership.
