To provide rigorous and relevant learning experiences that equip students with the knowledge, technical skills, and professional competencies necessary to succeed in high school, postsecondary education, and the modern workforce. The teacher will deliver high-quality instruction aligned to the Foundations of Business Communication & Technologies course, emphasizing digital literacy, business communication, technology applications, and career readiness. The teacher will create an engaging, student-centered learning environment that promotes critical thinking, collaboration, and real-world application of business concepts. The role also includes collaboration with colleagues, participation in program development, and contribution to initiatives that strengthen Career and Technical Education pathways and student achievement.QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Certification:
Bachelor's degree, required Valid Texas teaching certificate or permit with required endorsements for subject/level assigned, required Valid Texas teaching certificate in Business and Finance or Business Education, preferredSpecial Knowledge/Skills:
Deep understanding of scientifically based reading research and evidence-based practices for teaching Assessing student progress toward achievement of benchmarks Knowledge of research based instructional strategies General knowledge of curriculum and instruction Knowledge of Literacy State Standards and State Assessment Provide resources and training to campus staff on inquiry based learning Gather and assist in analyzing data Create an atmosphere of trust and collaboration among staff to promote professional growth and accelerate the achievement for struggling students Interpersonal Communication needed to collaborate with team membersMAJOR TEACHING RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Keep informed about current legislation, educational developments, literature and research in the field of education/assigned subject by participating in state and national professional organizations; attend appropriate conferences and staff development sessions; maintain professional growth in the core knowledge are of competency. 2. Develop instructional plans for curriculum program assigned and provide written evidence of program implementation. 3. Work cooperatively with special education, RTI, LPAC, or/and 504 committee(s) to modify curricula as needed for students with special needs according to guidelines established by Individual Educational Plans or 504-accomodation plans. 4. Present the knowledge and skills of the subject matter according to guidelines established by the Texas Education Agency, Board policies and administrative regulations. 5. Plan, prepare and execute lessons, instructional strategies, activities, materials and equipment that reflect accommodation for individual needs of students. 6. Cooperate with other members of the staff in planning and implementing instructional goals, objectives and methods to address the needs of special populations. 7. Utilize technology in planning, organizing and implementing the teacher/learning process and other classroom managerial functions. 8. Assist students in analyzing and understanding the learning process so that they may become life-long learners. 9. Monitor and assess student achievement through informal and formal testing procedures. 10. Assume responsibility for extracurricular activities as assigned and cooperate with the sponsorship for activities approved by the school. 11. Demonstrate behavior that is professional, ethical and responsible and be a positive role model for students. 12. Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the physical, social and emotional development of students and take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities. 13. Manage student behavior in the classroom adhering to the District Discipline Management Plan in accordance with Board policies, administrative regulations and Individual Education Plans. 14. Assist in the selection of textbooks, supplies, equipment, instructional materials and technology resources. 15. Establish open lines of communication and maintain a professional relationship with students, parents, colleagues and community members. 16. Demonstrate interest and initiative in personal and professional improvement and participate in the campus and District staff development program. 17. Keep informed of and complies with federal, state, District and campus regulations and policies for classroom teachers; compile maintain and file all reports, records and other documents as required. 18. Perform other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor (primary evaluator). 19. Collaborate with team members to coordinate events for team such as speakers and grade level activities such as tutoring. 20. Monitor student progress. 21. Follow McAllen ISD customer service standards. 22. Duties as assigned.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written) Maintain emotional control under stress.Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
