Position title: Lecturer Salary range: See Table 15 Unit 18 Faculty Pre-Six Lecturers for the salary range for this position. A reasonable estimated full time rate for this position at 100% time is $70,977 - $95,388.

POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of California, Santa Barbara, invites applications for a pool of qualified lecturers to teach courses and labs in chemistry and biochemistry. Main duties for this pool of lecturers will include teaching courses and/or labs in general, organic, biochemistry or inorganic chemistry depending on the needs of the department. There may be the possibility of occasional upper-division teaching opportunities. Duties may also include supervision of graduate teaching assistants. Screening of applicants is ongoing and will continue as needed. The availability of positions varies from quarter to quarter, depending on the needs of the department. Percent time of appointments may vary. The posting will remain open until March 31, 2027 to accommodate department needs. Additional qualifications (required at time of start) M.A. or M.S. degree must be conferred by the date of appointment. Preferred qualifications PhD degree desired Ability to organize and instruct chemistry labs and lectures Teaching experience at the college level in chemistry is desired Ability to organize and effectively communicate course content and learning outcomes, ability to engage diverse population of students Knowledge and use of technology in the classroom, such as iclicker, and other active learning methods
